This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Sam's Security Solutions collects through samsecuritysolutions.ca, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Nova Scotia law.
1. What we collect
When you use our contact or quote form, we collect the information you enter:
- your name (required);
- your email address (required);
- your phone number (optional); and
- the message you write, which may describe your property or security needs.
We also record the date and time of your submission. Like most websites, our servers and hosting providers may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies on this site.
Please don't include sensitive information such as payment card details, passwords, or alarm codes in your message.
2. How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare quotes;
- to arrange site visits, installation, and support if you become a customer;
- to keep the website secure and prevent spam or abuse; and
- to meet legal and accounting obligations.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the site and handle your enquiry, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Email delivery. Form submissions are sent to our inbox through Resend, an email delivery service.
- Hosting and infrastructure. The website and the server that processes the form are run by hosting providers.
- Fonts and icons. The site loads icons from Font Awesome, which may receive your IP address and browser details when the page loads.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, customers, or the security of the site.
4. Where your information is stored
Some of our service providers process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws and accessible to authorities there. We choose providers that use reasonable security measures.
5. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for customers, as long as needed to provide service and meet legal and accounting requirements. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.
6. How we protect it
The site uses HTTPS, and we limit who can access form submissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is inaccurate;
- delete your information or stop using it; and
- withdraw your consent to us contacting you.

8. Cookies
We don't set cookies for tracking or advertising. Your browser or third-party services we load, such as Font Awesome, may use technical storage to work properly. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings.
9. Children
This site is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age of majority in Nova Scotia). If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. If we make significant changes, we'll highlight them on this page.
